Players will learn basic rules (i.e. how to run the bases, hitting techniques etc.). Each week we will split into new teams (each week every player will receive a different 8 oz. MLB mini helmet of their team for that day), and compete in a variety of warm up games before playing an actual game! This fun and exciting program requires no equipment, we will supply the bats, balls and most importantly the FUN! Players should bring their own water bottle! Min: 8 Max: 20This is a contractual program.

Step Up Club gives students in grades 4 and 5 the opportunity to sample what the Kennebunk Youth Center has to offer when middle and high school students are not around. This club includes transportation for Sea Rd School to the Youth Center, a healthy snack, and access to pool tables, board games, table tennis, foosball, video games and much more! Parents must pick up students at Kennebunk Youth Center, 19 Park Street at 4:15.

REGISTRATION OPENS - MONDAY, AUGUST 20, 2018The 2017-2018 First Lego League season is almost upon us. Over the years, Kennebunk has made a name for itself in this wonderful, friendly competition that supports young people ages 9-14 in teamwork, building, researching, problem solving and programming. This year’s theme is Into Orbit, which you can find more detailed information on at https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/fll/challenge-and-season-info. WHERE: Sea Road School    COST: $140/participant When participating in this program, students can expect to gain experience building multi-functional robots while using EV3 Mindstorms programming. That being said, there is much more to this program than Lego Robotics. Kids will be expected to work collaboratively within a team of 6, with two adult overseers. In addition to solving complex missions with their robots, students will work as a team to identify a problem related to space exploration, research, brainstorm possible ideas, choose a strong solution, and present a final project together through a variety of possible methods.IMPORTANT NOTE: Practices will be held at Sea Road School and will vary in time depending on the team in which they are placed. Registration will open Monday, August 20th and will close on Friday, September 14th. The season will run through mid November for all teams and into December for those who pass the state qualifier. Teams may and have proceeded beyond the state meet, but the Parks & Recreation Department’s season ends with the state meet. When you sign up, please include a note of days that would not work for your child and we will try to accommodate. As the weather gets colder the excitement continues to heat up! This program is filled with TOUCHDOWNS for everyone! We will teach/review basic football rules and skills through drills and games. We will be using a foam Nerf Football for all games. All participants will get a NFL mini helmet each week. Players should bring their own water bottle and their own mouth guard (we will have extra mouth guards available on day of for a $5 fee). This is a contractual program

One Day Cooking Fun For All!We are excited to have another fun year of Kidz in the Kitchen sessions planned! Register for one session or register for all. There’s something for everyone in these great after school cooking sessions. Kidz will create a variety of treats for the entire family to include baked and no-bake recipes sure to make your taste buds water. Participants will enjoy the messy fun while you will enjoy the “no-clean up” factor. After each session your child will be given a copy of the recipes they made that day so they can enjoy them again at home with you! Our season theme sessions are sure to be a hit!

REGISTRATION OPENS - MONDAY, AUGUST 20, 2018The 2017-2018 First Lego League season is almost upon us. Over the years, Kennebunk has made a name for itself in this wonderful, friendly competition that supports young people ages 9-14 in teamwork, building, researching, problem solving and programming. This year’s theme is Into Orbit, which you can find more detailed information on at https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/fll/challenge-and-season-info. WHERE: Sea Road School    COST: $140/participant When participating in this program, students can expect to gain experience building multi-functional robots while using EV3 Mindstorms programming. That being said, there is much more to this program than Lego Robotics. Kids will be expected to work collaboratively within a team of 6, with two adult overseers. In addition to solving complex missions with their robots, students will work as a team to identify a problem related to space exploration, research, brainstorm possible ideas, choose a strong solution, and present a final project together through a variety of possible methods.IMPORTANT NOTE: Practices will be held at Sea Road School and will vary in time depending on the team in which they are placed. Registration will open Monday, August 20th and will close on Friday, September 14th. The season will run through mid November for all teams and into December for those who pass the state qualifier. Teams may and have proceeded beyond the state meet, but the Parks & Recreation Department’s season ends with the state meet. When you sign up, please include a note of days that would not work for your child and we will try to accommodate. REGISTRATION OPENS - MONDAY, AUGUST 20, 2018The 2017-2018 First Lego League season is almost upon us. Over the years, Kennebunk has made a name for itself in this wonderful, friendly competition that supports young people ages 9-14 in teamwork, building, researching, problem solving and programming. This year’s theme is Into Orbit, which you can find more detailed information on at https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/fll/challenge-and-season-info. WHERE: Sea Road School    COST: $140/participant When participating in this program, students can expect to gain experience building multi-functional robots while using EV3 Mindstorms programming. That being said, there is much more to this program than Lego Robotics. Kids will be expected to work collaboratively within a team of 6, with two adult overseers. In addition to solving complex missions with their robots, students will work as a team to identify a problem related to space exploration, research, brainstorm possible ideas, choose a strong solution, and present a final project together through a variety of possible methods.IMPORTANT NOTE: Practices will be held at Sea Road School and will vary in time depending on the team in which they are placed. Registration will open Monday, August 20th and will close on Friday, September 14th. The season will run through mid November for all teams and into December for those who pass the state qualifier. Teams may and have proceeded beyond the state meet, but the Parks & Recreation Department’s season ends with the state meet. When you sign up, please include a note of days that would not work for your child and we will try to accommodate. REGISTRATION OPENS - MONDAY, AUGUST 20, 2018The 2017-2018 First Lego League season is almost upon us. Over the years, Kennebunk has made a name for itself in this wonderful, friendly competition that supports young people ages 9-14 in teamwork, building, researching, problem solving and programming. This year’s theme is Into Orbit, which you can find more detailed information on at https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/fll/challenge-and-season-info. WHERE: Sea Road School    COST: $140/participant When participating in this program, students can expect to gain experience building multi-functional robots while using EV3 Mindstorms programming. That being said, there is much more to this program than Lego Robotics. Kids will be expected to work collaboratively within a team of 6, with two adult overseers. In addition to solving complex missions with their robots, students will work as a team to identify a problem related to space exploration, research, brainstorm possible ideas, choose a strong solution, and present a final project together through a variety of possible methods.IMPORTANT NOTE: Practices will be held at Sea Road School and will vary in time depending on the team in which they are placed. Registration will open Monday, August 20th and will close on Friday, September 14th. The season will run through mid November for all teams and into December for those who pass the state qualifier. Teams may and have proceeded beyond the state meet, but the Parks & Recreation Department’s season ends with the state meet. When you sign up, please include a note of days that would not work for your child and we will try to accommodate. As the weather gets colder the excitement continues to heat up! This program is filled with TOUCHDOWNS for everyone! We will teach/review basic football rules and skills through drills and games. We will be using a foam Nerf Football for all games. All participants will get a NFL mini helmet each week. Players should bring their own water bottle and their own mouth guard (we will have extra mouth guards available on day of for a $5 fee). This is a contractual program

Old Skool Recess is great way for adults (18+) to get their steps in, bring the fun back in to exercising, and get inspired to exercise this winter!  Each week will start with a dynamic warm up and then get the groups heart rate up with some exciting old skool gym/recess fun. This may include tag games, relays, group challenges, team games, and parachute games. The program aims to keep everyone moving for the 75 minutes and inspire the group to push each other to the max in a cooperative and nurturing environment.This program is open to all fitness and health levels. Old Skool Recess is great way for adults (18+) to get their steps in, bring the fun back in to exercising, and get inspired to exercise this winter!  Each week will start with a dynamic warm up and then get the groups heart rate up with some exciting old skool gym/recess fun. This may include tag games, relays, group challenges, team games, and parachute games. The program aims to keep everyone moving for the 75 minutes and inspire the group to push each other to the max in a cooperative and nurturing environment.This program is open to all fitness and health levels. Sign up on your own or reach out to some old skool friends, and get active with Kennebunk Parks & Recreation Department.
